👋 Hi, I'm Diane.
For over 12 years, my "day job" has been deep in the world of global finance and investment strategy. I've advised institutions like the World Bank and IMF, alongside some of the world's top private equity firms and hedge funds – the kind managing billions.
But alongside navigating complex strategies and high-stakes decisions, I was navigating something equally challenging and rewarding: raising two kids.
And that's where the picture gets clearer.
I realized the sophisticated financial world I operated in often felt miles away from the practical realities most of us face – juggling demanding careers, managing family finances, and trying to build a secure future.
It’s a lot.
That realization sparked the idea for this space.
It’s not just about sharing financial expertise; it’s about connecting that knowledge to real life. My goal is to translate the often-intimidating world of finance into practical strategies, usable tools, and mindful habits that actually fit into the busy lives of professionals and parents.
Ultimately, it's about helping us build wealth confidently, design lives we truly enjoy, and maybe even raise some kind, thoughtful future leaders along the way. I share what I'm learning and observing here, and over on YouTube where the conversation continues.
I have a background in Economics and International Development at UC Berkeley, a Master's in Management and Business Economics from Harvard University, and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
These days, I’m based in Washington, D.C. with my family and – yes – I'm usually powered by iced coffee, which often doubles as my daily dose of inspiration.
Each week, my newsletter, Café Economics, I share actionable, data-driven money strategies and life-balancing tactics—zero fluff, all signal—so you can build wealth confidently and design a life you genuinely love.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you find something valuable here.
